Which Aesthetic Treatment Is Right for Me?

If you're thinking about having aesthetics for the first time, but aren't quite sure where to start, you're definitely not alone.

When I first started working in aesthetics, one of the things I quickly realised was that people don't necessarily come to me knowing exactly what treatment they want. Sometimes they know something has changed, or that their skin isn't looking how they'd like it to, but they don't know what will actually help.

And that's completely okay.

You don't need to know the difference between Profhilo and polynucleotides, or whether you need filler or an anti-wrinkle treatment, before you come to me. That's what the consultation is for.

For me, aesthetics has never been about changing someone's face or trying to make everyone look the same. It's about listening to what you're looking for, understanding what you're comfortable with and working out what, if anything, is going to give you the result you're hoping for.

Sometimes that might be a treatment. Sometimes it might be something much simpler.

So, if you're wondering where to start, here's a little guide to some of the treatments I offer at Pearl and what they can be used for.

So, where do you start?

If you're not sure what you need, it can help to think about what you'd actually like to change or improve, rather than starting with the name of a treatment.

Want to soften lines and wrinkles?

Anti-wrinkle treatments work by temporarily reducing muscle movement, helping to soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles. They're often used in areas where repeated movement creates visible lines.

The aim isn't to make your face look frozen or expressionless. It's about finding the right balance for you and keeping your results looking natural.

Want to add or restore some shape?

Dermal fillers can be used to add volume, enhance definition or restore areas that have lost volume over time.

At Pearl, this can include treatments such as lip, cheek, chin, jawline, nasolabial fold and marionette line filler.

Filler isn't about making everyone have the same lips or the same facial shape. What works for one person might not work for another, which is why understanding what you're hoping to achieve is such an important part of the process.

Want to improve your skin rather than change your features?

This is where treatments such as Profhilo, polynucleotides, microneedling and advanced facial treatments come in.

These treatments are focused more on the quality and appearance of your skin — things like hydration, texture, radiance and overall skin health.

Profhilo is designed to deeply hydrate the skin and support firmness, while polynucleotides are used as a skin treatment to support skin quality and regeneration.

Microneedling takes a different approach, creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin to encourage the body's natural healing response.

Want a fresh skin boost?

Sometimes you don't need an injectable treatment at all.

Treatments such as HydraFacial, hydrodermabrasion and Carboxy Facial can be a great option if you're looking to give your skin some extra attention.

They can help leave the skin feeling fresh, hydrated and brighter without changing your features.

What if you still don't know?

Honestly, that's fine.

You don't have to arrive at Pearl knowing exactly what you want to book.

If you're unsure, we can talk through what you're noticing, what you'd like to improve and what you're comfortable with. From there, we can work out which options might be suitable for you.

And sometimes the best advice is to do less.

I'd much rather you leave feeling confident about a decision than feel like you've been talked into something you weren't sure about in the first place.

Aesthetics should still look like you

For me, the best results aren't necessarily the ones where someone can immediately tell you've had something done.

It's about looking in the mirror and feeling like you — just a little more refreshed, a little more confident or simply happier with what you see.

If you're based in Camberley or the surrounding Surrey area and you're thinking about trying aesthetics but don't know where to begin, you're always welcome to get in touch with Pearl and have a chat.

You don't need to know the treatment. You just need to know what you'd like to feel better about. ♡
